BARCLAYS Bank in Crystal Palace is to close in October.The bank said today it would be closing its Westow Hill branch on Friday, October 16 because its record show customer number have fallen by almost two thirds since 2008.The closure means the nearest branches for Crystal Palace residents would be in Thornton Heath, Sydenham and Forest Hill.Last year, Barclays closed its branch in South Norwood and is due to close its branch in Sanderstead in September.A Barclays spokesman said: "The way...

A MOTORIST from Croydon has appeared in court charged with murder following an alleged hit-and-run in Kent.Thomas Rossiter, 42, was dragged underneath a car for 100 metres during the incident in Swanley on July 4.
