A signalling problem near Purley is causing delays for train passengers between Gatwick Airport and Croydon this morning. Services running on the northbound line between Gatwick and Purley are subject to delay to the signalling fault as services are forced to run at a reduced speed. Network Rail engineers are on site to fix the fault but delays are currently expected to continue until at least 10.30am. A busy Croydon road has been closed this afternoon (Wednesday, May 24) after a crash. Police said just before 1pm that Lower Addiscombe Road is closed in both directions near the junction of Cherry Orchard Road. They were called to a car in collision with a quad bike, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.
